How Can Yeast Dough be a Low Calorie Dessert?

Surprisingly, yeast dough is not that high in calories if you do it right and it can be considered a low calorie dessert. With few tricks you can even spike it up with extra protein, like in this recipe.
I use very little sugar and fat to make these amazing cheese buns.

Ingredients:
20 grams melted butter = 1 and ¼ tbs
All Purpose Flour 350 grams = 2.5 cups
4 tbs sugar = 60 grams
1 large egg
2 tsp dry active yeast = 8 grams
1 tsp vanilla extract
250 grams warm milk = 1 cup cup
Pinch of salt

Cheese filling:
300 g light farmers cheese = 1 and 1/3 cup
2 tbs monkfruit sweetener
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp lemon zest

Optional crumble:
1 tbs soft unsalted butter
2 tbs all purpose flour
2 tbs sugar
