Are US-Bound Teslas Made in China?

This isn’t the first time that reports have come out that Tesla was possibly planning on importing its cars from China to both the US and Canada. A few months ago, Reuters had an exclusive report which had confidential sources at Tesla which reported this would start to happen and most people discounted it off the bat.
The report mentioned that some of Teslas considerations were on whether parts by Tesla’s China-based suppliers would be compliant with regulations in the US and Canada.

Of course being imported from outside the US means less tax credits for the buyers but Tesla has also significantly dropped prices since then, so in theory It can make up for the loss of credits.
That long range M3 last year was $57 thousand, it now starts at $47 thousand but with half the credit.
