"Biden Directed Action..." US F-15s Bomb "Iranian Weapons Depot" After Attacks On Syrian, Iraq Bases
The US, for the second time in roughly as many weeks, carried out strikes against a weapon storage facility in eastern Syria. Pentagon said that strikes carried out on November 8 targeted facilities used by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and affiliated groups. The “precision self-defence strike” was in retaliation for growing number of attacks on bases housing US troops in the region, the Pentagon said.
Similar airstrikes on Oct. 27 also targeted what officials said at the time were two facilities affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. US and coalition troops have been attacked at least 40 times in Iraq and Syria by Iran-backed forces since the start of October. Forty-five US troops have suffered traumatic brain injuries or minor wounds due to the attacks, Pentagon said.
The "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" has claimed many of the attacks, saying they were in response to US backing for Israel in its war on Hamas.
