The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) was hit by a ransomware attack on November 9, 2023, which disrupted trades in the U.S. Treasury market and caused equities clearing issues. The attack was carried out by Lockbit, a criminal gang with ties to Russia. ICBC is China's largest commercial lender by assets and the world's largest bank.
