From the beginning of the fluoridation programs in the United states prestigious universities and numerous government regulatory agencies have maintained that drinking so called "optimally" fluoridated water is without significant harm to anyone. Every study that found any harm was routinely denigrated and marginalized but following the National academy of sciences 2006 review even the advocates do now admit the dose of fluoride to many especially infants grossly exceeds the level known to cause harm.
