In Grosse Ile, Michigan, a couple purchased a river front home built during the days of prohibition and bootlegging, when booze was being transported to and from Canada, utilizing the Detroit River. In the 1980's, the couple frequently heard muffled howls and strange noises coming from their wine cellar, where they eventually discovered the entrance to a tunnel located under their home. Upon further investigation, large bipedal dog-like footprints were located. The couple soon decided to explore several smaller uninhabited islands nearby for any strange activity. This led them to come face-to-face with tall, bi-pedal, wolf-like creatures with glowing red eyes, which telepathically warned them to "Leave now, and never come back...ever!" That small island became known as "Dogman Island."
