Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to answer whether he would take responsibility for failing to prevent the October 7 attack on Israel, saying in a CNN interview Sunday that such "difficult" questions were for when the war is over.
Netanyahu also said there was "no reason" patients can't be evacuated from Al-Shifa, the largest hospital in Gaza, as fighting rages nearby. Israel opened an evacuation corridor there Sunday, but the International Committee of the Red Cross said no one has left through it.
The health care crisis is deepening in Gaza. Health officials say Al-Shifa has devolved into a "catastrophic situation," while the Palestine Red Crescent Society said the territory's second-largest hospital is also out of service.
The Israeli military says several civilians were wounded Sunday by missiles fired from Lebanon. Israel's clashes with Iran-backed Hezbollah in the region are central to fears of a wider Middle East conflict.
