The Golden Ratio Echo
Does the secret to visual beauty hold the secret to sonic beauty?
The Golden Ratio VST Plugin sets out to answer that question, and just joined the list of free vst plugins. I hope that it can one day make your list of one of the best free vst plugins. It is a delay effect, however I found that it sounds somewhere between a delay vst and a reverb vst.
Although I say vst for the search algorithm, it is also an au, vst3, and aax. Compatible with fl studio, pro tools, ableton, cubase, reaper, and let me know if it works in any other major daws!
I also would be curious of what sounds you make with this free vst. I think it’s a cool concept and hope the golden ratio empowers people with their music production, and anyone with a passion for audio engineering.
I can see this being used on vocal recordings, I really like how high mod and high feedback make a beautiful long echo trail. I can also see that same concept being used on synth recordings, guitar recordings, and even drum recordings.
Believe it or not I made this after the X vst, and before I made Drip Vst, Spaz Vst, or Sandbox Vst. I wanted to take the time with this algorithm and make sure the sound was good so people really like it. I want to make some really cool tools, without the pressure of competing with major corporations.
I hope the golden ratio explained portion of the video was clear, and think the fibonacci sequence into a delay is pretty cool right?

The mod changes the feedback percentage in the shape of a gaussian curve. So that the shorter and longer echos are less prominent in the mix. This means with mod maxed out it will center around 144 ms, 377ms. I say that so that you know if the mod is at zero the feedback can go on forever and if it is any value above zero it will act more like a reverb!
🎉 Thanks for tuning in! Let's make something beautiful! 🎶
