Dairy farmer back to rake hay and apparently came back the next day and baled hay. I missed that. I must have been taking a nap. This is a win/win, cows get fed and I get my backyard mowed, without me being the one mowing. And plus a cool video to boot.

Taking my neighbor for a ride on a 1949 John Deere B Tractor

The 1954 John Deere Model 40T is a tricycle-style tractor that was produced from October 1952 to October 1955. These tractors were built where you could have a wide front end like the tractor in the video. I let a friend borrow my 1954 John Deere tractor and Woods stone rake. He had several loads of gravel for his driveway that needed to be raked over. I'm attempting to make a duck pond for the wildlife. I enjoy watching the critters. They all need water too! And you never know who will show up for a drink!? I started this project this September with a 1956 John Deere 420 Crawler with a 2 point blade, up and down. It also has a bad carburetor that I should replace, should $$. It's hard scratchin' and slow going with this Ol' John, but it's a step above a shovel. It's still hard on the back!

I sold timber a few years ago, and I'm skidding out the last of the treetops for firewood, Red Oak, White Oak, and Cherry. After cutting them to length, I skid them out, buck them up, split them, load them, haul them, unload them, stack them, and eventually handle them one last time to get them in the stove. In my "Home Movies," I've noticed I talk to myself—a Lot! My "Home Movies" was filmed with a phone in my pocket before my adventures in Rumble.

I ask myself, "Why do I volunteer for this?"

These old rakes are ground driven and pulled by any means possible. If you don't have a tractor you can always use your horse. Most farms in these parts have a horse or two. These old rakes are almost indestructible and still used today, especially by the Amish.

Little John is sick and I hope he gets feeling better soon. New points, rotor and condenser should help. If not there's always a plan B with these ol' tractors.
