11 Billion to the Taliban

I bet you didn’t know the US is sending foreign aid to the Taliban.
It’s true. Since Joe Biden’s Little Big Horn retreat from the Kabul airport, the losers of the Afghan War (that would be the western nations aligned to fight the ultimate winners) have been paying off the Taliban run regime to the tune of roughly 11 billion dollars in UN rebuilding reparations.
Breitbart dot com found the massive cash handouts after it sorted through the “NOT so fine’ print in a report issued by UN Special Inspector General for Afghan Reconstruction, John Sopko. According to Sopko, the US and its allies in the war have been sending 80 million dollars to Afghanistan every 10 to 14 days ever since we pulled out of the country.
While the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan claims the funds are “carefully monitored, audited, inspected, and vetted in accordance with UN rules and processes,” Sopko noted the Taliban’s history of siphoning off funds from their intended recipients by “collecting royalties, or charging fees on cash shipments.”
UN aid workers and non-governmental organizations have noted a long history of Taliban corruption. To complete their relief efforts, the international teams have been required to divert cash to Taliban ministries, which are noted as “inland revenues.”
Biden’s administration is already taking heat for releasing six billion dollars to the mullahs in Iran some of which may have helped fund the current hostilities between Hamas and Israel. Once again, the USA is coming down on the wrong side of history.
We can only speculate as to the why’s. But under the Taliban, opium production is down 95 percent. The loss of international drug revenues has probably been a bitter pill for some very powerful people in the West to swallow, but there is big money to be made in the field of distributing foreign aid.
We can’t help but wonder if there is any connection between the two.
