Tradition and Faith, are they the same?

How do we understand this issue today? We say we no long live by the law, yet Christianity is filled with its traditions, rites, and laws. Is this faith? Paul wrote in his letter to the Galatians that, “the just shall live by faith.” The question is, faith in what? Our existence has a foundation, it has precepts and statues to follow that were commanded by our creator. Have we put our faith in the wrong foundation?
