555 timer variable frequency NPN

This variable frequency generator makes 5 volts variable frequency DC beats because of the diode. Giving the required base voltage of 5 volts to turn on transistor as a switch. The 9 volt batteries are associated with the semiconductor and goes about as a switch and pass that current into an AC transformer giving 110+ volts AC
