An Upper Peninsula man is schedule to be arraigned today (Friday) for a premeditated murder charge, and a charge of felony firearm.

Evan Dixon, 59 of Houghton, Monday evening walked into the Douglas House Saloon in downtown Houghton and shot and killed the victim in the bathroom of the establishment.

Dixon was arrested shortly after at the scene. The identity of the victim is expected to be released during the arraignment.

Michigan Attorney General’s office is handling the prosecution of the case as Houghton County currently does not have a county prosecutor.
