The Man in Stone

The story revolves around a family that has maintained possession of a statue for generations, believed to represent a significant ancestor who contributed to their wealth and local governance through mysterious means. The statue becomes an object of fixation for one half of the family, while the other half is accused of inheriting a mental illness gene. The protagonist, part of the latter faction, becomes the primary caregiver for the statue, treating it as if it were alive.
