Over-the-counter medications, including some pain medications, allergy and cold medications, and weight-loss products, may contain caffeine and other stimulants that can disrupt sleep
Medical Conditions: Various medical conditions, such as chronic pain, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), overactive thyroid, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease, are linked with insomnia
Lifestyle and Environmental Factors: Inconsistent sleep schedules, napping during the day, poor sleeping environments, and habits like consuming caffeine, tobacco, or alcohol can contribute to insomnia.
Other Factors: Insomnia can also be caused by underlying mental health problems, physical conditions, pregnancy, menopause, and certain sleep disorders like sleep apnea or restless legs syndrome.
