Medical Missions Abroad with Guest Dr. Richard Furman

Following the call of the Lord, Drs. Richard and Lowell Furman co-founded World Medical Mission in 1977 with the help of Franklin Graham, now the president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with Dr. Furman about the early stages of their ministry and their commitment to not only save and heal the body, but more importantly, to save the soul by presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to a hurting and desperate world. Luke 10:9 says, “Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God has come near you.’”

About Today's Guest: Dr. Richard Furman
Dr. Richard Furman has been practicing for more than 30 years as a vascular surgeon. His background includes serving as past president of the North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, along with being past president of the North Carolina Surgical Society, and governor of the American College of Surgeons for two terms. Dr. Furman is the author of "Defeating Dementia," "Prescription for Life," and "Take Charge of Your Cholesterol." He also co-founded World Medical Mission, in association with Samaritan's Purse. Dr. Furman resides in North Carolina.
