STOP BUYING GUNS - Invest In Training

In this video I discuss the things I would have done differently if I had the knowledge I have now when I was starting out in this industry. It is very easy to get in the mindset that I was in (especially with tyrannical overreach looming). I wanted the best tool for every "job". Every inch in barrel length mattered and every configuration suited a super specific task. But what is so much more important than the arrow, is the indian.

Obviously since the beginning I have always known the importance of training in every form. Early on and to this day, I do many dry fire reps at home and train on the flat range more than the vast majority of pew owners. However, this realization came to me when I began to realize that I had so many different setups, that I knew none of them extremely well. What would I grab if I went to an advanced training course? What about the gr weight and load? What about my holds on my reticle? I would spend the majority of my course thinking of my various holds instead of knowing them and quickly eliminating the targets.

Once I realized the potential for the asset could become, I started to realize how silly some of my thought process was in the past. I have all these rigs but I cannot afford good glass for all of them so many sit with cheap or no optics on them. I only have 2 weapon mounted white lights and no NV or thermal capabilities. I know it may seem like I am complaining but all I intend is to share with all you YT warriors, how to avoid my mistakes of becoming a collector before becoming the protector.

I give several real examples of the repetitiveness in my loadouts and what I would choose if I was doing it over again. I use the benchmarks of a GPR (zero to ~450 yards), SPR (~400 yards to 800 yards), and any reliable sidearm. I discuss why I feel they way I do about certain rigs and why I would choose or not choose them over some others.

With one capable, reputable, and reliable rig & sidearm that I am trained and in tune with, I am at my most lethal. I look at all my rigs as art. They are investments for my family. But they are tools first and foremost. SO with that, I will be training with fewer moving forward and getting to know them better. Getting better training and investing instead into NVG's and thermals moving forward.
