Today we're going to go through what forecasting is and why it's important for the supply chain.

Before we get to that, you should understand that it's extremely difficult to be accurate on a forecast because there are so many variables that you can't control for, so getting within 20% of the target is great.

I'll discuss how I've used forecasts to make sure I have enough capacity to meet my needs during high volume periods. I'll also dig in to what actually happens once you give someone a forecast.
