The Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS (acronym for Super Sport) is a car intended for racing: sportier than the 6C 1500 and the 6C 1500 Sport, it houses a 76 HP 1.5 six-cylinder in-line engine under the bonnet with compressor, carburettor single and double overhead camshaft and can reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h.

A Zagato-bodied example won the second ever edition of the Mille Miglia on 1 April 1928 with Giuseppe Campari (who gave the Biscione the first of 11 successes in the Freccia Rossa).
