Jeremiah 5-6 "Beware" 11/15/2023

So, does God find one who does right in His eyes in Judah so that He can spare the city?
Jeremiah goes on a search….and what he is searching for is the truth…someone…anyone who follows and practices the truth of God.
And the first thing Jeremiah discovers in his search is that the people say, “as the Lord lives.”
But they don’t mean what they say.
You see “as the Lord lives” was a common saying…it was a constant reminder of Who God was and the fact that He was the center of their lives.
But when the people of Judah said it…they were just empty words…because they did not treat God as if He was the center of their lives.
They honored God with their lips…but the truth wasn’t in them.
Even though these people would be struck down and consumed…
Jeremiah can see that they will still not be corrected…they will still not repent.
