MOUNJARO 2.5mg | Week 3 RESULTS! | How'd Thanksgiving go?
Week 3 on Mounjaro 2.5mg injection for my diabetes is in the book. Lost weight this week too! Bonus!
Here's this week's log for those interested:
18 November 2023, Saturday
Blood sugar – 123
5:30am – BM. Not solid but plenty of it.
8:00am – Coffee! Not feeling hungry. Skipping breakfast.
10:50am – BM. More solid than this morning. Good amount. Bloated feeling is lessened…but still feel like there’s more.
1:50pm – Lunch. Sandwich on whole wheat.
5:15pm – Ate a handful of cashews.
6:30pm – Dinner. BLT minus the T on whole wheat.
19 November 2023, Sunday
Blood Sugar – Forgot to take today.
3:30pm – Lunch/Dinner. 2 egg cheese omelet. 2 slices of SPAM.
Not at all hungry today. Ate anyway as wife insisted I eat “at least something”.
20 November 2023, Monday
Blood sugar – 95
11:00am BM
2:00pm – Lunch. Half a sandwich. Not hungry really. Felt stuffed after half. Couldn’t eat any more.
2:30pm – BM (diarrhea).
21 November 2023, Tuesday
Blood sugar - 119
4:45am – Breakfast. 2 eggs 2 slices of bacon.
5:00am – BM (diarrhea).
6pm – Dinner. Hamburger.
7:30pm – Popcorn.
22 November 2023, Wednesday
Blood sugar – 115
2pm – Lunch. 2 eggs scrambled. 3 pieces of bacon.
6pm – Dinner. Hamburger patty with slice of American cheese.
8pm – Two handfuls of nuts.
23 November 2023, Thursday
Blood sugar – 111
2pm – Thanksgiving dinner. Quarter portioned all foods. Ate less than ¼ of what was on the plate. Not hungry at all.
7pm – Small slice of Pumpkin pie. I know my blood sugar is going to be mad tomorrow morning…..but a guy has to live ya know!?
24 November 2023, Friday - End of Week 3 and start of week 4 on Monjarao 2.5mg
Blood sugar – 164 (That slice of pumpkin pie last night. Totally worth it!)
Week 3 update:
Blood sugar high: 164 (Thanksgiving Pumpkin pie slice?)
Blood sugar low: 95
Blood sugar average this week (week 3): 123.2
Blood sugar average last week (week 2): 146.28
Blood sugar average: -23.08 from last week
Starting blood sugar: 474
Weight this week (Week 3): 178.8
Weight last week (Week 2): 183.6 lbs
Gain/loss: -4.8 lbs. Wow.
Sleep – Another restful week! Stopped drinking fluids about 2 hours prior to bed. A few nights I was actually able to sleep all night without having to get up for the restroom. Most nights I’m still getting up once a night. Much improved from 2-3 a night before starting treatment on my diabetes.
Mood – Mood is again much improved. Stress is almost non-existent. Is it the better sleep I’m getting? Is it blood sugar related? Whatever it is…I hope it stays this way!
Had some diarrhea this week. Few days in a row. Also have had constipation. No BM in last 2 days.
No headaches or queasiness this week.
Thanksgiving. I thought this would be a tough day on both my blood sugar and eating. I love to eat and I’ve always been able to make the excuse on why it was ok to eat as I like on holidays like this one. This time it was different. I could smell this fixins getting cooked all day and looked forward to dinner. When we sat down I realized that, although everything smelt great….I wasn’t really hungry. I put a small amount of most offerings on my plate. ¼ of what I’ve dished myself in the past. I was only able to eat about ¼ of that small plate before feeling too full to finish. Crazy! I normally will have 2 heaping helpings on Thanksgiving. I left the table feeling full! Later I had a slice of Pumpkin pie. Had too. A guy’s gotta live. It was delicious but I paid for it this morning with my highest blood sugar all week! 164.
