USS Hollandia - CVE-97 (Escort Carrier)

USS Hollandia (CVE-97), a Casablanca-class escort carrier, was named after the Battle of Hollandia. Launched in April 1944 and commissioned in June, she measured 512 feet in length, had a 65-foot beam, and was powered by two Skinner Unaflow reciprocating steam engines, reaching 19 knots. Hollandia supported the Battle of Okinawa and later participated in Operation Magic Carpet, repatriating U.S. servicemen. She was decommissioned in January 1947 and sold for scrap in December 1960.
