Christ in You

Parents like to say, "I just want my children to be happy", when in fact it would be better for them to say, "I just want my children to be joyful".

I say that because happiness is always short-term, fleeting, and in need of recharging because happiness is rooted in experiences; after all, junkies, alcoholics, and sex addicts are all happy whenever they indulge themselves in their favored vices.

After which, a certain boredom sets in whenever their high wears off, thus forcing them to seek to be recharged through their future indulgences.

Conversely, joy is always long-term and self-sustaining because joy is rooted in holiness; after all, it was the joy set before Jesus that He endured the cross and despised the shame.

Notice, it wasn't happiness that had been set before Jesus, but rather it was joy.

What was Jesus's joy?

His joy was His knowledge that His bride, His church, us, existed on the other side of Calvary, whereby His joy is what had empowered Jesus to endure.

Without question, Christ in you is a great power simply because Christ in you is your essence of holiness, being that which your joy is always rooted in.
