BSD was born in Nîmes, France, in 1995 and joined the French military as soon as he could, serving for 5 years in the 1er Régiment de Parachutistes d'Infanterie de Marine (1st Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment) aka 1er RPIMa. At the young age of 19, Benoit was deployed to Mali and engaged in a number of combat operations, from capturing the airport in Timbuktu, to protecting the French president, to counter-terrorism against Boko Haram. And, he loved every minute of it.
Upon leaving the military, BSD began a career in mixed martial arts, following in the footsteps of his father who was both a military officer and a judo practitioner. He now lives in Bayonne with his wife and first-born child, where he trains for his job in the UFC. Benoit is a Christian, a veteran, a patriot and a family man — Islam Makhachev’s worst nightmare.
