ECX AMP Monster Truck First Run & Review

Click to subscribe: http://bit.ly/Sub-CCxRC - Horizon Hobbies has brought an inexpensive but fun offering to the table in the 1/10 scale ECX AMP Monster Truck. I bought this as a Christmas present for a friend who has helped me shoot some videos for my channel and listened to me talk his ear off
about RC cars. This is his first hobby grade RC, so we took it out today to see how it handled.

The ECX Amp MT RTR comes with a battery and charger, so it literally can run right out of the box. However, the battery in the kit leaves much to be desired and the truck seemed really slow. I brought some of my 2S lipo batteries and a traxxas to EC3 connector and it showed the capabilities of this truck. The ECX AMP hugged the ground with great steering and control for a 2WD truck. In the air it stays level (unless you don't throttle it properly on a big jump) and it stays straight when landing. Compared to a Stampede it excels after landing. It hits and sticks. Another highlight about this truck is that is uses common parts from other ECX vehicles, so right out of the gate it has a lot that can be upgraded. Partly due to it's low price tag, the ESC and receiver are combined, but they can changed out later - and probably should be. The transmitter isn't great, but it works fine and is very small. This is a great entry level RC that can be upgraded to really bash.

It would leave much to be expected for someone who has had more advanced RC cars, but it's a great entry level RC with room for modification when they decide they want more from the truck.
