Novi based Our Next Energy Inc. is cutting its workforce by 25%.

The battery startup says of the 128 people being laid off 82 are in Michigan. In 2022 the company announced a 1.6 billion dollar investment, which included $200 million dollars in tax cuts from the state. The plant is supposed to employ more than 2,000 people.
