Upper Peninsula Coast Guard Station To Receive A Name Change

Located in the Upper Peninsula, The United States Coast Guard Station in Sault Ste. Marie is about to have a name change.

Known as Sector Sault Ste. Marie since 2005, The United States Coast Guard announced the station will be renamed Sector Northern Great Lakes by December 1st

Authorities said, “By renaming these sector commands, we are emphasizing the entirety of their respective areas of responsibility in recognition of what is most important to the Great Lakes maritime community that we serve.”
