Health workers at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital in partnership with the Joint clinic research center have asked government to consider establishing sickle cell clinics at least in Kasese and Lyantonde districts

This follows the high influx of sickle cell patients in Mbarara hospital amidst the shortage of sick cell services available.
