Going inside a VOLCANO - the Ring of Fire

A strong blizzard was hitting hard at Crater lake, the deepest in the United States & 3rd in the world. But anxious to use my new Dji Mavic Drone around Wizard Island in the middle formed around 7,700 years ago by the collapse of the Volcano Mount Mazama. There are no rivers flowing in or out and filled by rain & snowfall that the total amount of water is replaced every 250 years.

A rapid blizzard hits and makes it difficult to fly against the wind pushing the drone battery loss on overdrive and shutting down before it could make it back. The situation put me in a near death experience as I went searching down the Crater. Sliding down the slope and not even half ways down with no signal or anybody in site, I turned back up with my friend were the challenge really started. Trying to climb back up the above waist high snow seemed impossible as it would break up and we would slowly slide back. At that point my own mind started giving up, if there was a way to call for help we probably would of as frostbite was kicking in numbing feet and legs almost an hour in. But Mind over Matter is what pushed us back up and with the help of grabbing on to tree shrubs. Somewhere out there is a brand new Drone. Subscribe for much more adventures to come!
