Borderlines and codependents perfect storm of relational impossibility at its core has to do with the childhood wounds (to varying degrees) of each. Wounds that for people with BPD are a loss of self and for codependents a loss of a part of self. There is not relational reality of repair thus episode after episode of painful conflict means continued ruptured unhealthy bonds that do not include the dynamics of repair needed for healthy relating.
