Arguably the most complex and detailed dog sport around, Schutzhund has a deep history and tradition dating back to the late 1800s. Schutzhund is a breed suitability test, testing working dogs abilities in tracking, obedience and protection. Originally developed for the German Shepherd dog, the sport has adapted over time to allow Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd and other breeds.

While the three disciplines seem simple enough, the level of detail in each of the disciplines is staggering, and the amount of time Schutzhund enthusiasts put into training their dogs is nothing short of impressive.
