La Monalisa YouTube Stunt Ends With Man Dead - Culture of Narcissism?

A Minnesota teenager, Monalisa Perez, 19, is charged with killing her boyfriend of 5 years, Pedro Ruiz, 22, in a YouTube stunt gone wrong. Perez shot and killed Pedro Ruiz as he held book to try to stop bullet. Perez, who is pregnant with couple’s second child, has been charged with manslaughter. This couple seemed to be anxious to get over "300,000" subscribers and regularly did stunts to get subscribers and views. Is this tragedy a by-product of the culture of narcissism that is so prevalent in our world today? Were they being so sensational with stunts in a cultural narcissism chase for fame and/or money?
