Elon Musk reportedly visited Israel on Monday, despite the ongoing conflict with Hamas rebels in Gaza. Israel announced on Monday that it has achieved an agreement in principle to use Elon Musk's SpaceX company's Starlink communications system in the Gaza Strip.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also scheduled to meet with Musk on Monday to discuss the security issues of artificial intelligence and to participate in a live online conversation, according to Netanyahu's office.
Shlomo Karhi, Israel's Communications Minister, announced on Twitter on Monday that Starlink satellite units will only be authorised to operate in Israel and the Gaza Strip after receiving approval from the Communications Ministry.
The Israeli Communications Minister described the agreement between him and Musk as "essential" for anyone who wants a "better world, free of hate and anti-Semitism, for the sake of our children."
The satellite internet, a SpaceX project, delivers high-speed internet connection to anyplace on the planet via a constellation of thousands of satellites. The internet services in this situation rely on SpaceX's fleet of LEO Starlink satellites.
Unlike regular internet, which uses cables or copper lines, satellite internet uses signals from Earth-orbiting satellites.
Elon Musk had stated in October that SpaceX's Starlink will assist communication links between Gaza and "internationally recognised aid organisations." Musk's decision caused Israel's communication minister to declare that the country will contest the move.
In response to Elon Musk's X post, Israel's communication minister, Shlomo Karhi, stated that Israel "would use all tools at its disposal to combat this."
Karhi wrote, "HAMAS will exploit it for terrorist actions." "Perhaps Elon Musk would be willing to condition it on the release of our kidnapped kids, sons, daughters, and elderly citizens." Every single one of them! By then, my office will have severed all links with Starlink."
On October 28, a telephone and internet blackout cut Palestinians in the Gaza Strip off from the rest of the world and from each other, making calls to loved ones, ambulances, or coworkers elsewhere nearly impossible as Israel expanded its air and ground assault.
Elon Musk had defended himself against "bogus media tales" after he promoted an antisemitic conspiracy theory on X earlier this month, which attracted outrage from the White House and caused many large brands to halt advertising on the site. Critics have accused the service, formerly known as Twitter, of exacerbating anti-Jewish sentiment.
