A glock in a Grill?

On 8/15/23, around 3pm, Officers assigned to the Zone 3 Field Investigations Team (F.I.T.) were patrolling the 1900 block of Meador Ave SE when they were alerted to a wanted person nearby in the area.

The wanted person in question was identified as Tyreke Mikel Brookings. Brookings is a documented gang member with an arrest cycle including aggravated assault, vehicle larceny, and obstruction. Officers located Brookings and attempted to detain him, but Brookings immediately began to flee from officers on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit, officers located Brookings hiding in the bushes and immediately detained him. Brookings also attempted to discard a firearm during his attempt to flee from officers. Officers were able to locate and recover the firearm successfully and place it into evidence. Mr. Brookings was arrested accordingly after the confirmation of his outstanding warrant. He was processed and transported to Fulton County Jail.
