Does God Only Want Us To Do What He Wants? YES.

It sounds weird to say that God only wants us to do what He wants us to do. In reality, His will is the very thing that fits us perfectly.
We can be right where we feel we need to be BUT STILL NOT actually listening-plowing through in our own strength and in our own wisdom.
When we realize that God is our family and He desires, more than anything, to spend time with us, it's time to set our face and affection on Him.
