Kiryu, a low-ranking member of the Tojo Clan, becomes embroiled in a complex conspiracy after a debt collection job goes wrong. He is framed for murder and forced to navigate the dangerous criminal underworld to clear his name. Along the way, he discovers a plot involving a valuable piece of land that various factions within the Yakuza are vying for.

Goro Majima's Story:

Majima, a former Yakuza who runs a cabaret in Sotenbori, aspires to rejoin the Yakuza and get back into the good graces of his clan. However, he becomes entangled in a power struggle within the Tojo Clan, leading him to face difficult choices and moral dilemmas.

The narrative unfolds through a combination of intense combat, exploration, and a plethora of side activities ranging from mini-games like karaoke and bowling to managing real estate and running hostess clubs. The game explores themes of loyalty, honor, and the complexities of the criminal underworld, all set against the backdrop of a meticulously recreated 1980s Japan.
