In Indonesia, on the island of Sumatra, the eruption of Mount Merapi began on Sunday, sending a column of smoke three kilometers high.

The volcano emitted a three-kilometer high column of smoke, covering nearby areas with ash, including roads and vehicles.

During the volcanic eruption, people were on the mountain, and communication with 42 tourists was lost. They are currently considered missing.

Local authorities declared a level 3 out of 4 danger level, prohibiting people from approaching Merapi within a radius of 3 kilometers. Residents were also urged to wear masks and stay at home.
