After a mysterious roaring sound permeates the neighbourhood and a flash of light, all the
homes on a maple street lose power. What's more,
the batteries in cars and radios go dead. People come
into the street and discuss the situation. A boy tells the adults a similar situation that he read about, monsters from outer space were responsible.
When one neighbour's car starts, people accuse him of being responsible for the
blackout or in league with those who are. They begin
pointing the finger of blame at one another, and the
accusations lead to physical violence.

This is also an essay i wrote for college. We had to demonstrate an awareness of social issues. I had to write an essay even though i was taking computer science
