Israel surrounds Khan Younis on ‘most intense day’ of Gaza war

The Israeli Defence Forces say they have engaged in “the most intense day” of fighting since their offensive in Gaza began, as troops encircle the southern city of Khan Younis.
They claim Hamas' leadership are hiding out in the city, but it's also where hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled. Israel is now telling many of them to move again to the southernmost point of the strip, but the UN has warned it can not cope with the influx of people.
