Matt Taibbi is editor of Racket News and one of the key investigators of the Twitter Files. Last week, he testified before Congress on issues related to the First Amendment and government censorship.

"It was two different hearings if you watched it. The Republicans were holding the hearing on government censorship, and the Democrats were holding basically a 'but Trump' hearing, where every time they got a chance to engage in anything, their entire focus was the dangers of Donald Trump and how that superseded anything that we could possibly be talking about," says Mr. Taibbi.

Mr. Taibbi, along with journalists Michael Shellenberger and Alex Gutentag, recently exposed a new set of documents from the Cyber Threat Intelligence League, an "anti-disinformation" group that waged an aggressive information operation on the public.

"In the CTI files that we saw last week, there was one training session, and the second slide in the training was a quote from the joint chiefs of staff talking about how you have to use certain tactics to defeat your enemy. And these are people who are going to be reviewing domestic speech, and they're thinking in terms of other Americans as the enemy," says Mr. Taibbi.
