Is the US taking a firmer tone with Israel?

More than two months of war between Israel and Hamas have passed and the death toll continues to rise. Palestinian officials in the Gaza Strip now say that at least 17,000 people have died in the fighting and there are growing international calls for a cease-fire.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has called on Israel to prioritize the protection of civilian life saying there’s a gap between such an intent and “the actual results that we´re seeing on the ground."
Israel says it will not let up in its drive to eliminate Hamas, which is considered a terrorist organization by numerous countries.
