Free Classic Poutine Delight Recipe 🍟🧀🍖
Introduction:
Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with our Classic Poutine! Golden fries, squeaky cheese curds, and savory gravy come together in a symphony of flavors that will transport you to the streets of Quebec. Irresistibly delicious and incredibly satisfying! 🍟🧀🍖
Ingredients:
4 large russet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into fries
2 cups cheese curds, fresh and squeaky
2 cups beef or chicken gravy (homemade or store-bought)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
Prepare Potato Fries:
Cut the potatoes into evenly sized fries. Rinse them in cold water and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
Double Fry Method:
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 325°F (165°C). Fry the potatoes in batches for about 3-4 minutes until just cooked but not yet golden. Remove and let them rest on a paper towel.
Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C). Fry the par-cooked potatoes again in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
Prepare Gravy:
While the fries are cooking, heat the gravy in a saucepan over medium heat. Keep it warm but not boiling.
Assemble Poutine:
Place a generous portion of hot, crispy fries on a serving plate. Sprinkle a handful of cheese curds over the fries.
Pour Hot Gravy:
Pour the hot gravy over the fries and cheese curds, ensuring they are well covered. The heat from the gravy will melt the cheese curds.
Season to Perfection:
Season with black pepper to taste. You can also add additional toppings like chopped green onions or caramelized onions if desired.
Serve Immediately:
Poutine is best enjoyed immediately while the fries are crispy, the cheese is melty, and the gravy is piping hot.
