Ontario Bans Employers Asking For Canada Work Experience, More Credibility

As of this month, Ontario is banning employers asking for potential workers for Canadian work experience. This allows students from colleges and universities from foreign countries to apply as permanent residents.
This will be taking effect next year.
Employers, as of this month, cannot request employment for Canadian work experience. This also applies to current job postings.
Officials said this could increase Canada's GDP by as much as $100 billion over the next 5 years, and grant more immigrant qualifications.
David Piccini, minister of labor, immigration, training and skills development, said that people were originally given lower-qualified dead-end jobs, but now they can get a meaningful contribution with a better job.
Ontario is planning on welcoming more foreign students through their nominee program, and those who finish a one-year program can qualify for this.
It is for those who have an undergraduate degree and want to get more education in Canada.
Though a nursing class student now can't qualify for a short-term graduate program, even though there is a huge demand for nurses now.
The new legislation will also crack down on how regulated professions such as accountants, architects and geoscientists use third-party companies to assess international qualifications to ensure they are done in a “fast, transparent and fair” fashion.
The changes will happen in early 2024, but may take longer.
