Sultan Al Jaber vs Mary Robinson: A Climate Throw Down

Just as COP28, the UN's 2023 climate conference, was getting started, the conference host, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, got into a bit of an argument with former UN Climate Envoy Mary Robinson. Mrs. Robinson — who is about as elite as it gets in global climate circles — was obviously not used to being challenged on her assumptions that fossil fuel use must end if the world is to meet its climate goals.

In the exchange, an interview facilitated by an organization "She Changes Climate," Al Jaber said he is not interested in any climate "alarmism," but follows the science. It's saved here for posterity, since Al Jaber has since "walked back" his statements, even though everything he said about climate and fossil fuels and who needs to sacrifice to save the planet is spot on.
