Aerial footage reveals the aftermath of a tornado-like weather event in a rural Irish village on Sunday (December 10) which left boats overturned and tiles ripped off roofs.

Videos posted to social media show debris being scattered by high winds in which witnesses to the event and local media are describing as a 'localised tornado.'

The Irish police, An Garda Siochana, said they were responding to an incident in the village and had closed roads leading into it.

Ireland's metrological service, Met Eireann, has issued wind and thunderstorm warnings for much of the country as it is hit by Storm Fergus.
