REPORT 2# | Afghans being moved into MOD accommodation without locals consent

Residents in the highly military populated count of Wiltshire recently found out, without prior warning or consultation, that thousands of Afghan nationals as part of Operation Lazurite are being put in unused MOD accommodation at the expense of the tax payer to save money on chartering hotels.

The UK has brought in over 24,600 Afghan nationals to settle here since leaving Afghanistan. With over 700 MOD homes being used to house them, which are owend by Annington Homes, not the public. David Wood at Helping Homeless Veterans-UK has tried over the last 9 years to get MPs to put homeless veterans in empty MOD houses but told this can't be done as they are privately owned.

Tensions are rising in the UK with migrant crime on the up, as well as numbers of migrants coming to the UK, with over 114k coming by small boat alone since 2018.
