We Feed Cows Candy?

When a truck full of defective Skittles crashed on the highway, it raised a lot of questions and trouble over the clean up. It turns out that the defective candy was actually going to feed livestock, and that corn-based products such as high glucose corn syrup are being used often to save money on feeding costs. Is this healthy for us, or for the cows?
