Urbanization has doomed humanity. People simply do not produce enough children in urban environments to replace themselves—hence, the cities are DOOMED.

The Urban Centers have retested and confirmed the work of Dr. John Calhoun and his famous "Mouse Utopia" experiments. Mental illness, depression, violence, sexual deviancy, and reproductive failure are the defining characteristics of both mouse and human urban centers.

Because of the sheer size of the system we have constructed this is not a problem with a solution—it is a condition to be endured until it collapses under its own weight because the available population will not be sufficient to maintain the sunk costs of the infrastructure.
