Aaron Hernandez was a former professional football player in the NFL, notably playing for the New England Patriots. In 2013, he was arrested and charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player and acquaintance of Hernandez. Lloyd was found shot to death near Hernandez's home.

During the trial, evidence suggested that Hernandez and two accomplices were involved in Lloyd's murder.
