Ingredients
1 box of wheat squares cereal
2 cups of gluten-based flour
(such as white whole wheat flour, bread flour, or all-purpose flour)
2 boxes of flavored Jell-o (such as strawberry, raspberry or pineapple)
2 eggs
1 can of sweet corn
Instructions
Blend the wheat cereal until it becomes a powder and pour it into a bowl.
In the same bowl, add the gluten-based flour, flavored Jell-o, eggs, and sweet corn.
Mix the ingredients well until it forms a dough-like consistency.
If the dough is too sticky, add more flour. If it's too dry, add water, oil, or more creamed corn.
Knead the dough for 3-5 minutes to ensure that it's well combined and forms a tough consistency.
To make round balls, tear off small pieces and form them into balls with your hands. You can also roll the dough out into a snake-like shape and cut it into smaller pieces.
For floating boilies, microwave the dough for 30 seconds. For sinking boilies, boil them in hot water for 3-5 minutes.
Once boiled, remove the boilies from the water and place them on a paper towel to dry.
Spread the boilies out to cool and dry completely. Place them in a bag and freeze them to keep them fresh.
To use the boilies, slip them onto a hair rig using a bait stop and baiting needle. You can also mix some uncooked dough with water to make a paste bait that dissolves slowly in water.
Conclusion
With this easy recipe, you can make your own boilies for your next fishing trip. Boilies are an effective bait for carp fishing and can be made to suit your specific needs and preferences. Whether you want floating or sinking boilies, or you prefer a soft or hard consistency, this recipe gives you the flexibility to make boilies that suit your fishing style. Remember to store the boilies in a freezer to keep them fresh and ready for use. Happy fishing!
